TMP Forensics Starts Strong
Macksville,
Ks
After lots of work and
preparation, the Forensics team had a strong showing at their first tournament
Saturday in Macksville. Their were 10 schools total competing at this
tournament. The duo of Lucas Vitztum and Erin Stouffer took first place
overall in Improvised Duet Acting(IDA). Mark Wasinger and Merry Lovewell
took second place overall in Duet Acting. Mark and Samie Pfeifer took 5th
place overall in IDA. Hayley Schmidtberger placed 6th overall in Poetry.
Hayley did not choose her poem to be read until the Thursday before the
tournament, so this was quite the accomplishment for her! Also competing
together were Jackie Walters and Merry Lovewell, who in a very crowded IDA
field, missed reaching Finals by only one place. Mason Ruder also
accompanied the team, but will not perform until our next tournament.
Mason was a tremendous help to his teammates by watching their events and
offering support and advice between rounds.
Special thanks to coach Cheryl Glassman for her help and Barb Wasinger who also
accompanied us to Macksville. The coaches and students all had a good
time and learned a great deal at our first tournament. This is a great
group of students that represented our school very well both in performance and
conduct. We're excited about the rest of the Forensics season and looking
forward to our next tournament!
