Holy Family Elementary Enters New Relationship with Thomas More Prep - Marian

In working toward implementation of recommendations made in a recent study by Neil Meitler, the governing boards Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and Holy Family Elementary School have been restructured. The goal of the reorganization is to combine and streamline the financial management of both schools by placing responsibility and oversight in a single group rather than in separate groups.

Bishop Paul S. Coakley has appointed the following persons to serve on the reorganized board: Ed Steno, Clare Gustin, Teri McDonald, Glenn Braun, Tim Werth, Larry Reichert and Fr. Daryl Olmstead.

Additionally, Holy Family Elementary Principal Jana Simon, Thomas More Prep-Marian High School Principal Denis Coakley and Dr. Nick Compagnone, Superintendant of Diocesan Schools, will serve as ex officio members of the board.

Each school will retain responsibility for its curriculum and day to day administrative operations. The Holy Family Elementary School Advisory Council will be able to focus on providing advice and guidance to Principal Jana Simon without having to delve into financial and long term budgetary issues. A new advisory council will be formed to fulfill a similar role at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.

The reorganized board is scheduled to “officially” begin its work on July 1, 2008. However, members of the reorganized board are already busy gathering information and figures, getting familiar with the fiscal operations of both schools and laying the necessary groundwork so that they will be ready to hit the ground running.
