President Jean Ross’ Request for Campaign Participation

Our 100^th Anniversary celebration will soon be upon us as we celebrate with a three-day weekend in July. As you know, as part of our celebration, we are addressing our infrastructure with our Second Century Restoration Campaign with a goal of $1.5 million. This will help us ensure Catholic Education to continue for many years to come!

While we are encouraged that we are currently at 70% of our goal, there are some facts I need to make you aware of regarding these funds:

• We have had local anonymous donors agree to match up to $350,000 of Hays businesses donating a minimum of $3,000. We are doing very well here, needing less than $50,000 in commitments toward this matching challenge. The Hays community is stepping up to the challenge.

• To insure that this project predominately is shared by alumni and friends, one of the stipulations with the matching challenge is that all the matching local business money is placed in an escrow account and the school cannot use the funds until the alumni (and friends outside of Hays) raise $1 million! We’ve got a way to go yet for this part of the challenge!

• We mailed out Campaign material to over 8,000 alums and friends of the school. Currently we’ve had responses from 288, and of these only 48% are alums! We are proud of our many professional, successful alumni. The generosity and sacrifice of those who came before us made this wonderful school possible. Now it’s this generation’s turn to ensure the same for the students of tomorrow.

• Pledges and payments can be made over a 3-year period. We like to look at it in a broad scope, that if each person gave at least $50, that could generate another $400,000! If each gave at least $100, that could generate $800,000!

As I finish my last year of my ten-year gift as president, I would consider your participation in our Second Century Restoration Campaign as a personal gift to me, knowing it is really God you will please because you gift His young people. You too, received this gift in the past. Help us carry on into the future.
