Campaign Update

In November of 2007, Thomas More Prep Marian under the guidance of Jean Ross and her 12 disciples initiated the 2nd Century Restoration Project , the first capital campaign in the history of the school.  The undertaking was designed to raise $1.5 million to update and replace electrical and mechanical infrastructure in both the Administrative Building and the Fieldhouse.  Additional projects, such as interior remodeling and various site restorations are also included in the project.

A small group of individuals from the Hays business community teamed with TMP-Marian to assist in raising the necessary funding for the Restoration.  Through a matching gift challenge, select individuals and the businesses of Hays have contributed over $700,000 to the 2nd Century Restoration Project.  In order to utilize these funds, Thomas More Prep-Marian is committed to raising $1 million from alumni and friends of TMP.  To this point we have accumulated $800,000. Strategies are under way to obtain the remaining $200,000.

Certain restoration projects have already been accomplished and others are in the planning stages.   In December of 2007, the cafeteria had new floor tile and window treatments installed in addition to electrical upgrades to initiate the restoration project.  Currently, plans have been created for renovations in Al Billinger Fieldhouse.  In late April following the ACE auction, construction will begin to renovate three of the locker rooms here in the Fieldhouse.  This work is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of school in August.
