NATURAL SCIENCE AT TMP-MARIAN

Biology I Research.JPGThe TMP-Marian science department provides coursework for each high school grade and a variety of interests and ability levels. Central to the curriculum is the college prep sequence of biology and physics at the sophomore level, chemistry for juniors, and biology and physics for seniors. Although all students are required to complete three years of science for graduation and are encouraged to complete the college prep curriculum, there are many electives available. Four faculty members provide the coursework, supervise laboratories, and offer help outside the classroom.

Jim Dinkel in Action.JPGMr. Jim Dinkel (picture, right) joined the TMP-Marian faculty in the early 1970’s after a brief stint teaching  chemistry and mathematics at Hill City. At TMP-Marian he has provided a solid college prep chemistry course o countless students.  Recently an advanced placement chemistry course has been added to his duties.  When not in the classroom, Mr. Dinkel spends time farming or golfing.

Outside of school, family, woodworking, music, gardening, and chess occupy Mr. Brull’s time.

Mrs. Rachel Wentling is teaching her ninth year at TMP-Marian. In addition to Wentlingteaching ecology, anatomy, and physiology,  Mrs. Wentling works in an administrative capacity and sponsors the student  council.   Outside of school she is wife and mother and enjoys golf, scrap-booking, and social gatherings.  (At right, Mrs. Wentling is pictured trying out a hovercraft at a science club meting.)
