Administrative and Teaching Positions:

Junior High Social Studies Teacher

Thomas More Prep-Marian Junior High (3A co-ed Catholic school, enrollment 90 in 7th-8th grades) is seeking a full-time junior high social studies teacher to open the past to students and connect it to the present and future. This assignment includes teaching both U.S. American and Kansas History. A strong cross-curricular approach is desired as well as the ability to teach other skills necessary for success in high school, college, and career.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies education, History, or related field and be certified (or able to obtain certification) in Kansas. A Master’s degree is preferred and will command a higher salary, as will teaching experience.

Successful candidates will have an ability to teach historical events connected to and in context with the timeline of history, while also organizing substantial projects and experiences that are interdisciplinary and high school preparatory. Teachers at TMP-Marian are expected to develop caring relationships with students that allow them to demand greatness. TMP-Marian believes that giving multiple pathways to success will help students of all levels persevere in school and in the future.

Experience and/or interest in a wide variety of technological tools is a plus. TMP-Marian uses Google Classroom with students having access to Chromebooks on a 1:1 ratio. Students will learn 21st Century communication skills in a variety of platforms. Comfort with existing and willingness to learn new technologies is a must.

Junior High/High School Instrumental/Vocal Music Teacher

Thomas More Prep-Marian Jr/Sr High School (3A co-ed Catholic school, enrollment 270) is seeking an Instrumental and Vocal Music teacher to inspire students to become proficient in their instrumental and vocal endeavors.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education or related field and be certified (or able to obtain certification) in Kansas. A Master’s degree is preferred and will command a higher salary, as will teaching experience.

Successful candidates will have a strong ability to teach skills and motivate students. Teachers at TMP-Marian are expected to develop caring relationships with students that allow them to demand greatness. A supplemental stipend is available for Pep Band.

Coaching Positions:

First and foremost, successful candidates will be a teacher of young women, helping them develop Christlike attributes in all areas of their lives.
