The following college representatives will visit TMP-M.  Any student in grades 9-12 may attend. Representatives will be available during 3rd hour (9:46-10:33 a.m.) unless otherwise noted.

Military Academies

Interested students need an appointment from a member of Congress. Students are encouraged to apply to more than one member of Congress to improve their chances. Application deadlines vary by Congressman but most are in September-November. For more information about Senator Mann please click here. His application deadline is September 30.

Sunflower State Tour - K-State and KU - Grades 9-12

Wednesday, August 28th. The Venue at Thirsty's from 6:30-8:30pm. Kansas State University & the University of Kansas Admissions will team up to share information to help high school students and their families navigatge the college search and admissions process.   • Barton Bound Scholarships: Elite Scholarship-Tuition with a 3.5 or higher GPA; Honor Honor Scholarship-$1,000 for 3.-0-3.49 GPA; Achievement Scholarship-$700 for 2.5-2.99 GPA.

  • FHSU Cyber Con - Grades 9-12

    The Fort Hays State University Informatics Department is pleased to announce its annual CyberCon event, scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Black and Gold Room of the Memorial Union on the FHSU campus. This event is open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Attendees will have the opportunity to: Participate in hands-on workshops covering current cybersecurity and informatics trends, Hear from leading professionals in the field, Learn about the innovative educational opportunities available through the FHSU Informatics Department, Network with fellow students, faculty, and community members.   • Scholarship application available online September 15. Priority Deadline: November 15; Final Deadline: February 15

  • Honors college -Priority application deadline is November 15 but admission is open until April 1. Admissions requirements: A cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 (93%) or higher. Generous scholarships for ACT composites of 30 or higher. Click here for more information or to apply.

  • Student Recognition Programs- Meet with FHSU faculty, Get more info about FHSU housing, financial Aid & student life, ask questions and have a chance to win a scholarship.   • FHSU FAFSA Completion events

    Fort Hays State University will host two Free Application for Federal Student Aid completion events to help students and parents. Bring your computer and FSA ID (and your password!). February 11, from 6-8pm in FHSU Cunningham Hall and February 17, from 2:00-5:30pm in the FHSU Memorial Union Cody Commons. Click here for a flyer.

  • Future Educators Day at FHSU - Grades 10, 11 & 12.

    Monday, October 21 from 9am-1:30pm. This free event is for 10th, 11th & 12th graders considering a career in education and includes a continental breakfast and buffet-style lunch. 1) Send Mr. Zachman an email so he knows you want to attend 2) register by clicking here. Registration wil close when the event is full, so don't wait! Students will be able to do the following:  Interact with current education majors to learn more about a “day in the life” of a Tiger Teacher.  Learn about opportunities and organizations such as the Education Small Learning Community, Teacher Education Honors Program, Study Abroad, Study Away and many more! Visit with representatives of the Admissions Office to learn more about FHSU.

  • Future Engineers Day with the Physics Department - Thursday, October 24 for high school juniors and seniors. 10am-3pm at the FHSU Memorial Union & Tomanek Hall. Register at: https://fhsu.edu/admissions/upcoming-events

  •  FHSU Health & Behavioral Science Day - November 8 from 9:45am-3:00pm. High School Juniors and Seniors can visit campus and learn about exciting degree programs in the fields of allied health, communication sciences and disorders, health and human performance, nursing, psychology, and social work! Garden City Community College

  • GCCC Presidential Ambassador Scholarship- Recipients will be awarded $2,400 over 4 semesters. Nominees must have a 3.0 GPA with demonstrated leadership qualities. Ambassador Scholars will serve as representatives of the College President and GCCC. TMP-M may nominate one outstanding senior for this scholarship before December 12. Interested? Kansas State University

Newman University

  • Special Scholarships update - Students must apply, be admitted then submit the application to be considered for the full tuition St Newman Scholarship, the $20,000 /year Monsignor McNeill Sholarship, the $17,500/year ASC Service Award and/or the $1,000/year Honors Scholarship. Initial deadline: December 13; Final Deadline: January 31.

Ottawa University

  • Braves Visit Day - Saturday, October 19 from 8:30am-1:00pm

  • Ottawa University will be offering virtual visits to your juniors and seniors this Fall. We will be offering general virtual visits – talking with an Admissions Recruiter and offer financial information.

    We will also be offering degree specific virtual visits.  During this time, we will have class information, financial information, facts about Ottawa University.  There will also be a professor from a specific department to talk about details of the majors. 

  • The Scholars program is an intensive and comprehensive four-year scholarship program for high-achieving students who are interested in self-empowerment and cultivating change.  This is a competitive program that offers 3 levels of tuition scholarships – 100% tuition paid, 80% tuition paid, and 60% tuition paid! OUKS Scholars must have either: Minimum cumulative 3.5 (of 4.0) GPA and minimum 24 ACT Composite score OR minimum cumulative 3.5 (of 4.0) GPA and be in the top third of your graduating class. Minimum cumulative 3.7 (of 4.0) GPA and be in the top third of your graduating class. Any high school senior can compete who meet the above criteriaThe portfolio submission is due Friday, October 18, 2024.  The Scholars competition will be held on the Ottawa University campus on Saturday, November 2, 2024.  Students must attend the on-campus competition.

University of Kansas

GPA-only Scholarships The University of Kansas will continue to award automatic scholarships based on GPA only for students entering KU in Fall 2025 directly from high school. Students will automatically receive this scholarship if they meet the GPA requirements and apply online by the Dec. 1 deadline. New this year: an unofficial or official transcript is required for admission and scholarship consideration. KU does use weighted GPA.

Washburn University

  • GPA based First Time Freshmen Merit Scholarships: 4.0 = $20,000; 3.9-3.99 = $16,000; 3,65-3.89 = $12,000; 3.4-3.64 = $8,000; 3.0-3.39 = $4,000.

Wichita State University

  • Scholarship Information Programs - August 8, 17, 24 & 29

  • Spanish Scholarship Information Programs (HS Srs) - September 7 & 25.

  • Shocker Saturdays - September 14, October 12, November 9 & December 7. This event is open to everyone. Tour, meeting with an Admissions representative, free t-shirt!

  • Black & Yellow Days- For high school juniors and seniors. October 11 & 25.

  • Freshmen Merit Scholarships-Must be admitted by December 1. Awards start at $4,000 for GPA only of 3.0-3.4 and increase with ACT of 21 or higher.

  • Distinguished Scholarship Invitational - November 23. Three $64,000 awards. To apply students must: be a 2024 high school graduate, have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 (93%) OR a minimum ACT composite of 27 OR rank in the top 10% of your class, submit WSU admissions application by November 1 and scholarship materials by November 10.
