Note:  It is a good idea to create an email that will be dedicated to your scholarship search account because you will likely get many emails from them.

Financial Aid Workshop

TMP-Marian will host a Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm in the Learning Commons. A member of the FHSU Financial Aid office will be the presenter. This event will be most helpful for seniors parents. Topics for the evening will include cost of attendance, expected family contribution, financial aid categories, types and sources of financial aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is used for Federal grants and loans.

 FAFSA Completion Event - February 17th

Fort Hays is hosting a FAFSA completion event for seniors and their parents. This event will be on February 17th from 6:00-8:00 pm at FHSU in Cunningham Hall Room 135. Please plan to bring a computer, 2024 tax information, and your FSA ID and password.

Scholarships for 25/26:

Going Merry Future Fund Scholarship - 9-12th grade

Deadline: September 30th

is a $500 scholarship opportunity open to all high school students, grades 9-12. You can use this scholarship to attend a 4-year university, community college, or a trade school.

The funds can be used for tuition, books, supplies, or other education-related expenses. The application is simple, with no GPA requirement and no essay.

The scholarship will be open from August 27, 2025, through September 30, 2025. I encourage every student to take a few minutes to apply. Click here to apply. 

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation - Seniors

Deadline: September 30th

Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.

Students need to be graduating high school during the 2025-2026 school year, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and to complete an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcript by September 30, 2025, at 5 p.m.

Hansen Career & Technical Education - Seniors

Deadline: October 20th

$4,000 ANNUALLY RENEWABLE FOR 1 ADDITIONAL YEAR

One hundred scholarships of $4,000 each are available to encourage students who seek competence through career and technical education (1 or 2-year programs) at the following schools in Northwest Kansas: Fort Hays Tech | North Central (Beloit and Hays), Colby Community College, Fort Hays Tech | Northwest, Academy of Hair Design (Hays and Salina), Cloud County Community College, Salina Area Technical College, Fort Hays State University (2-year program), or Kansas State Polytechnic (2-year program).

The Career and Technical Education Scholarships carry a stipend of $4,000 and are renewable for one additional year, providing the recipient has achieved at least a 3.00 GPA at the college level. With one renewal, the scholarship will be $8,000 over the two-year period. Students seeking a 4-year degree are not eligible.

Students may obtain application forms from high school principals or counselors. These forms must be completed and received by the Foundation office by October 20, 2025.

Three letters of reference are due in the Foundation office by October 20, 2025. It is the student’s responsibility to see that reference letters are received by the Hansen Foundation.  One letter of reference must be submitted by either your high school counselor or principal. 

CONDITIONS: Applicants must be full-time students who will graduate in the current academic year from a high school in the 26-county area of Northwest Kansas. Applicants should display good character. A 3.50 GPA is not necessary to apply for the Career and Technical Education Scholarship. There is no qualifying test for the Career and Technical Education Scholarship.  Recipients may enroll in any career and technical education program, in any of the following Northwest Kansas schools: Fort Hays Tech | North Central (Beloit & Hays), Colby Community College, Fort Hays Tech | Northwest, Academy of Hair Design (Hays & Salina), Cloud County Community College, Salina Area Technical College, Fort Hays State University (2-year program) and Kansas State Polytechnic (2-year program) — as long as it does not lead to a four-year degree.  All recipients must be enrolled as full-time students. ** ***Mrs. Fox has handouts if you are interested!!!

National FFA Scholarship Programs - Seniors

Deadline: November 1st

Through the National FFA Foundation, businesses and individuals support scholarships that are awarded to students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals. FFA provides scholarships that support all areas of agriculture, either in trade schools, certifications, or college. Scholarships support FFA high school seniors and collegiate members. Just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling close to $2 million. See the link for more information.

National Honor Society Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline: November 24th

To be eligible, a student must be:

  • A high school senior

  • An active member in good standing of a National Honor Society chapter, meeting all membership requirements and obligations of the local chapter.

  • An NHS student account holder, verified by the NHS chapter adviser.

  • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university.

Rudd Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline: December 1st

Requirements: Must have cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above, be a resident of the state of Kansas, be admitted and will attend either Emporia State, Fort Hays State, K-State, or Wichita State university full time in the coming Fall, Demonstrate financial need (pell-eligible), and have an ACT score at the time of submission. Hagan Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline: December 1st

The Hagen Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students in the high school graduating class. We would like to award 1,200 new four-year scholarships for the upcoming academic year of college. It is not unusual to award multiple scholarships to students attending the same school. Coolidge Scholarship - Juniors

Deadline: December 16th

The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that recipients may use for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2027 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. Academic excellence is the primary criterion considered by the Coolidge Scholarship. Secondary criteria includes an interest in public policy and an appreciation of the values that President Coolidge championed. The application requires that candidates read President Coolidge's Autobiography and a few other readings then write three essays. For more information click the link.

Smoky Hill Pheasants Forever Chapter 424 Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline: December 23rd

The Smoky Hill pheasants forever scholarship will annually recognize an Ellis, Rush, or Trego County high school senior who will attend a university, college, or vocational technical school in Kansas after graduation. One scholarship in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded to a qualifying senior. Must have 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Application essay topic is how Kansas can improve the habitat for upland game. Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) Nursing Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline January 15, 2026

Scholarship requirements:

  • ACT: Minimum 22 in English, 21 in Math, combined score of 44

  • SAT: Minimum 550 in Reading, 540 in Math, combined score of 1100

  • ASVAB: Minimum score of 81

  • GPA: Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA

Nominations/applications are now being accepted for the 2025-26 KHSA Awards &Scholarships. Nominees and recipients will be contacted on or before March 1, 2026 and recipients will be recognized by the Kansas Head Start Association at a date and location to be announced. Midwest Energy Youth Scholarship - Seniors

Application Due January 31, 2026

Midwest Energy will be awarding eighteen $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors for the secondary education program of their choice, with the awards paid directly to the student. Scholarship applicants must be seniors in high school, must live in or attend school in Midwest Energy's service area, and their parents or guardians must receive electric and/or natural gas service from Midwest Energy. Kansas Kiwanis Foundation Scholarships - Seniors

Deadline: February 1

This year the Kansas Kiwanis Foundation will award 35 scholarships to Kansas High School and College students worth $20,700.00 to assist them with their education.

Scholarship Applications must be postmarked no later than Saturday, February 1, 2025. Applications are reviewed and recommendations are made to the Board in March. Recipients are notified following the Board decision. Funding is sent in August to the institution to which the applicant will be attending once the award requirements are met by the recipient. Nex-Tech Break the Rules Scholarship - Seniors

Open to graduating high school seniors living in the Nex-Tech service area whose parents or legal guardians subscribe to at least one of the following Nex-Tech residential or business services: Landline Phone, Internet, or TV.  (No other services are eligible.) Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarships - Seniors

Deadline: February 14th

New-TEch is a member of NTCA - The Rural Broadband Association and the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS). Nex-Tech area students may apply for these industry scholarships. Must be seniors who live in the Nex-Tech service area with parents or legal guardians who receive at least one of the following Nex-Tech residential or business services: Landline, Internet, or TV.

The Cardinal Newman Society Scholarship

Deadline: February 17th

The Cardinal Newman Society’s tenth annual Newman Guide College Scholarship Contest is now open. The winner will be announced by May 2026 and will be awarded $5,000 toward the cost of attending a Newman Guide Recommended college in the fall of 2026 or 2027.

Additionally, there is the opportunity for the winner of the Contest to be awarded $20,000 over the course of four years. Presidential 1776 Award Contest - 9th-12th grade

Deadline: February to register 22nd

The Presidential 1776 Award is part of a national civics competition that challenges high school students who have interest in history around the founding of America and the ideas that shaped this country. The competition focuses on the Founders, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutional Convention, and the key battles and soldiers of the American Revolutionary War.

Students in grades 9-12 will compete in three stages:

  • An online multiple-choice test

  • An in-person regional semi-finals

  • A national finals event in Washington D.C.

Student travel and lodging will not be sponsored for regional contestants but will be covered for national finalists.

Space Exploration Scholarship - Seniors

The Ad Astra Kansas Foundation, a non-profit organization, is offering college scholarships for students attending Kansas institutions who are studying for careers in space exploration. Areas of study may include but are not limited to planetary science, astronomy, astrobiology, human spaceflight, rocketry, spacecraft design, and robotics. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman for the 2026–2027 academic year. Each winner will receive two Cosmosphere all-mission tickets.  Applicants must be planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited Kansas college, university, or vocational-technical school for the 2026-2027 school year. Eligible majors include science, engineering, or any program that can contribute to the advancement of space exploration. True Blue KSHSAA Scholarship - Seniors

This award is  intended to support Kansas high school graduates in postsecondary efforts. This one-time scholarship is for students graduating during the 2025-26 school year. These funds will be made payable to a two-year or four-year accredited college, university or technical school in the name of the selected student. Students must be seniors attending and graduating from a member school of the Kansas State High School Activities Association during the 2025-26 school year and have rostered in the chosen activity their senior year. They must be considered as students in good standing as confirmed by their building principal.

The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students the high school graduating. class. The parents' 2024 Adjusted Gross Household Income must not have exceeded $125,000. They also must meet the following criteria:

Attend a high school located in the U.S.

Must have achieved an unweighted 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale

Must be enrolled in a four-year college or university for fall of 2026

Must work 240 hours from January 1 2026 - September 1, 2026

Golden Belt Bank Scholarship - Seniors

At Golden Belt Bank, we are committed to making the one story you’re writing–the one life you’re living–better. Helping fund your post-secondary education is a page of that effort. If you are planning on attending an accredited post-secondary school (college, university, area vocational technical college, technical school, community college or proprietary school) full-time in the fall of 2026, review the qualifications listed below and consider applying. Ten non-renewable $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026.

Western Kansas Chapter of American Petroleum Institute (API) Scholarship - Seniors

Deadline: March 31, 2026

Open to graduating Seniors. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,500 annually ($750 paid each semester) and may be renewed for up to 4 years. Students must be enrolling full-time in an undergrad degree program at a two or four year college or a certified program at a trade/vocational-tech school.

The Organization of Latino Actuaries (OLA) is proud to announce its 2026 Scholarship and OLA Avanza Conference Travel Sponsorship Program, designed to support and empower the next generation of actuarial professionals. Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 939 Scholarship - Seniors

The focus of this scholarship is to award a student who is engaged with their studies and has been employed during their high school career. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a degree of self-discipline and high achievement in some aspect of their studies or activities. They also must show evidence of being a good citizen, which can include volunteer activities and community involvement.

O'Brate Foundation Traditional College Scholarship - Seniors

The O’Brate Foundation is committed to helping youth with limited resources succeed in reaching their educational goals and becoming positive contributors to society. We invest more than just money in our scholars by providing each of them a staff mentor to help work through the challenges of adjusting to college. In addition, we also provide our scholars with Financial Literacy programming and Personal & Professional Development opportunities and workshops.
