Kansas ScholarShop- Scholarship Search - Grades 9-12

The Office of the Kansas State Treasurer has partnered with Sallie Mae to create the ScholarShop initiative, which pairs Kansas students with scholarships tailored to their individual needs and qualifications. Fill out some basic information, answer some questions about yourself and you will have access to more than 6 milllion scholarships worth up to $30 billion .

Army ROTC Scholarship – Grade 12

Students who complete the ROTC scholarship application can earn full tuition and fee scholarship to more than 1,700 colleges nationwide.  Some colleges are unique in that they will give free room and board to Army ROTC scholarship awardees.

Timing is important for this program.  January 16 is the deadline for your application which includes: an application, a physical fitness test, a transcript, and an Officer interview. Students can compete for and earn either a 3-year or 4-year scholarship. Keep in mind, ALL Army ROTC covers FULL tuition and fees OR up to $10K/year for Room and Board.  Once contracted, they will enjoy a tax-free monthly stipend of $420.00 for 10 months of the school year, and $1200.00 annually for books.

Kansas Army National Guard

The Kansas Army National Guard is a part-time job with full-time benefits. In the National Guard you will receive a part-time monthly paycheck starting at $214 a month. You get 100% college tuition and fees. You will also receive the Montgomery G.I. bill which pays $394 a month to the student directly. More benefits are available to those who qualify! You could go to college for free and make $800 a month for just one weekend of service! Questions? McDonald's Job Opportunities & Scholarships

Both the north and south McDonald’s are hiring!  Team Members who work an average of 15 hours per week or more and have been employed at the same restaurant for at least 90 days can receive up to $2,500 in tuition assistance(scholarship) per calendar year. TMP-Marian PTF Essay Contest – Grade 12

Two $1,000 awards for TMP-M Seniors. Essay prompt: Reflecting on your time in high school, what faculty or staff member helped you grow in your faith? Describe a time when their influence helped you live out your faith. How will you use their example to influence others?

Hays Recreation Commission Scholarship-Grade 12

These $500 scholarships will be awarded to Seniors at Hays High School or TMP-M who have worked for HRC. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (80% at TMP-M) and must attend FHSU, NCK-Hays campus or Hays Academy of Hair Design-Hays campus. Applications are due in the school counselors office by Friday, April 18th at 3:15pm. Click here for information and an application.

Western Coop Scholarship - Grade 12

Four $1,000 scholarships are available to graduating seniors. You must live in one of the following communities OR be a legal dependent of an active member receiving service from Western Cooperative Electric: Bison, Galatia, Olmitz, Plainville, Timken, Bunker Hill, Liebenthal, Otis, Schoenchen, Waldo, Dorrance, Lorraine, Palco, Susank, Zurich, Ellsworth, Natoma, Paradise, Sylvan Grove. Pride of Kansas Football League Scholarship – Grade 12

The Pride of Kansas Football League has a $500 scholarship available for graduating football players who played in the league. Applications are due April 22. Click here for the application.

Jim Johnson Scholarship-Grade 12

This $500 scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who will be pursuing a career in one of the physical sciences (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, and Earth Science including geology, hydrology, meteorology, oceanography, and soil science). The scholarship is also open to those going into the teaching profession in the physical sciences. The student must be attending a school in the forecast and warning area of one of the following National Weather Service Offices; Dodge City and Goodland, Kansas, and North Platte and Hastings, Nebraska. Kansas Board of Regents Scholarships -Grade 12

  • Common Eligibility Criteria - Kansas residents must enroll in a qualified program at a Kansas college or university and must be working towards their first undergraduate degree.   • Kansas Promise ACT Scholarship - This award was created to assist students attending Kansas community colleges, technical colleges, Washburn Institute of Technology and certain private postsecondary educational institutions and enrolled in specified fields of study, generally in the fields of (1) information technology and security, (2) mental and physical health care, (3) advanced manufacturing and building trades, or (4) early childhood education and development. Your college also has one other eligible program area. Talk with your college about other eligible areas of study that may qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship may be used toward tuition, required fees, books, and required program materials. Your educational institution will determine the amount of your Promise Scholarship award based on information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with other financial aid that you may be receiving.   • Kansas Career Technical Workforce Grant The Career Technical Workforce Grant is available to students enrolled in an eligible career technical education program operated by a designated Kansas educational institution that has been identified as offering a technical certificate or associate of applied science degree program in a high-cost, high-demand, or critical industry field. Designated Kansas educational institutions include technical colleges, community colleges, and public four-year colleges that award associate of applied science degrees; and Washburn Institute of Technology. Only technical certificates and associate of applied science degree programs are included among the eligible programs. Preference in awarding goes to applicants with financial need.   • Kansas Comprehensive Grant – For needy Kansas students attending any Kansas public or private colleges or universities. To be eligible, students must complete a FAFSA, demonstrate need and list a Kansas college/university on the FAFSA to be considered. If eligible, this grant will be listed on the financial aid letter provided by your college. No application is required. Due April 1.

  • Kansas State Scholarship– Must take the ACT by December and complete the Regents Recommended Curriculum. Qualifier's names will be submitted to KSDE by the school counselor in February. Priority Deadline: May 1. 

  • Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship– Due May 1; Must complete the Regents Recommended Curriculum and have a minimum ACT of 21 or GPA of 3.0 or rank in the top 1/3 of class. 

  • Teacher Service Scholarship– Applicants must want to teach in the following areas: Elementary Ed, English, Fine Arts, Special Education, Math, Science or be willing to teach in an underserved geographic area in Kansas such as Topeka, Wichita, Kansas City or western Kansas. Deadline: May 1 

  • Nursing Service Scholarship– Applicant must locate a licensed sponsor to provide partial scholarship funding and employment upon licensure. Due May 1.

  • Military Service Scholarship- Candidates must have served in any military operation after 9/11/2001 for which they received hostile fire pay. Deadline: May 1

  • Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance – Applicants must be an enlisted member of a Kansas Air/Army National Guard unit. Deadline: May 1.

O'Brate Foundation Scholarship-Grades 12+

Awards are based on financial need and vary in size from $500 to $5,000 annually. The O'brate Foundation will award approximately 50 to 55 Renewable scholarships this year. Apply at: https://obrate.smapply.org/ Deadline to apply- May 1.

Vietnam Veterans Chapter 939 (Hays) Scholarship - Grade 12

Four $1,000 scholarships. Applicants need have no connection to a Vietnam veteran. Prerequisites: Students who have been employed for pay during their high school careers and can provide evidence of good citizenship. Submit complete applications by May 2. PAST DUE SCHOLARSHIPS

Maryknoll Essay Contest -Grades 9-12

This contest is open to all high school students enrolled in a Catholic school. Submit an essay of 500-750 words on the topic. Share a personal story about a time when hope played an important role in your life. Describe the situation, how you felt, and what gave you hope during that time. Explain how this experience impacted you and what you learned about the importance of hope. Essays are due by November 18th. Prizes up to $1,000. Click here for more information or to apply.

Hagan Scholarship - Grade 12

This is a nation-wide need-based scholarship that provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight semesters. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA, work 240 hours from January 1 - September 1, 2025 . Apply between September 1 and December 1. For more information or to apply click here.

Rudd Foundation Scholarship – Grade 12

This competitive four-year scholarship is for 50 Kansas high school seniors who are Pell Grant eligible, have 3.0 (88% atTMP-M) unweighted high school GPA and who are admitted to attend Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University or Wichita State University for the fall 2025. Covers all other costs of attendance after aid, grants, and scholarships are applied. You must apply online at: https://ruddfoundation.org/how-to-apply Application opens October 1. Deadline to apply: December 1. This scholarship will have youj use the FAFSA estimator to show financial need. Finalists must provide official FAFSA information.

Carson Scholarship – Grades 9, 10 & 11

TMP-M may nominate one student from grades 9-11. Qualifications: Students must have a 3.75 GPA in core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language) this year (a grade of 90-100% is considered a 4.0 for this award) and must demonstrate humanitarian qualities in their schools and communities through volunteer work and/or community service above and beyond what is required. Students may self-nominate by submitting a paragraph to Mr. Zachman explaining why you deserve the nomination before December 9. Students will be notified if selected. TMP-M's nominee will then complete an application by January 13. Click here for more information.

Kansas Daughters of Isabella Scholarship - Grade 12

This is a $500 scholarship. Students must be sponsored by a relative(mother, grandmother, aunt etc) that is a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarships – Grade 12

National scholarships range from $1,000-$9,000. For high school seniors whose parents receive services from Nex-tech (landline phone, internet or cable TV) and plan to return to a rural community following graduation from a technical school, a two or four-year college. Before applying, please verify your eligibility by contacting Lisa Wagoner at Nex-Tech, 877-625-7872, Ext 5101. Applications must be received at a Nex-Tech office by 4pm on February 14. Nex-Tech “Break The Rules” Scholarships – Grade 12

Five $500 and ten $1,000 scholarships. For high school seniors who live with parents/ guardians who receive at least one Nex-Tech service (internet, TV or landline; wireless services are not eligible). Choose any method you want to tell what you are passionate about and how it has led to your chosen career. We don’t care if you send us a video, slideshow, artwork, essay, whatever. American Legion Kansas Scholarships-Grades 12, 12+

  • All American Legion scholarships listed here are due by February 15 unless noted. Click here for American Legion scholarship applications. 

  • Hugh A. Smith Scholarship Fund-This is an outright grant of $500 for high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores who are in need of educational assistance, and are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved junior college, college, university, or trade school located in the state of Kansas. The applicant must be the son or daughter of a veteran; the parent(s) must have been a member of the Kansas American Legion and/or Legion Auxiliary for the past three years. The sons or daughters of deceased members in either organization are also eligible if the parent’s dues were paid up at the time of death. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically, and must show a high school transcript (with grade point average). 

  • Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarships-Four $500 scholarships awarded annually to children of Legion and Auxiliary members. Selections by Department Oratorical and Scholarship Committee are based upon scholastic standing, financial need, major field, etc. 

  • Albert M. Lappin Scholarship-An outright grant of $1,000, applicants for this scholarship must be a Kansas high school senior or college level freshman or sophomore, and the son or daughter of a veteran who has been a member of The Kansas American Legion or its Auxiliary for the past three years. The sons or daughters of deceased members in either organization are also eligible if the parent’s dues were paid-up at time of death. 

  • Music Committee Scholarship-The name of this scholarship, to be awarded annually, will be the “American Legion Music Committee Scholarship”. This $1,000 scholarship is available to all Kansas high school students who have distinguished themselves in the field of music and/or who will major or minor in music at an approved Kansas junior college, college, or university. 

  • Rosedale Post 346 Scholarship-Two scholarships of $1,500, applicants for this scholarship must be a Kansas high school senior or college level freshman or sophomore, and the son or daughter of a veteran who has been a member of The Kansas American Legion or its Auxiliary for the past three years. The sons or daughters of deceased members in either organization are also eligible if the parent’s dues were paid-up at the time of death. 

  • Charles W. & Annette Hill Scholarship-An outright grant of $1,000, applicants for this scholarship must be a Kansas high school senior or college level Freshman or sophomore, and the descendent of a veteran who has been a member of The Kansas American Legion for the past three years. The descendents of deceased members in either organization are also eligible if the veteran’s dues were paid-up at time of death. 

  • Scouting Scholarship-The American Legion Life Insurance Trust Fund provides for an $10,000 National Scholarship to be awarded to the Eagle Scout who is selected “The American Legion Scout of the Year”. The individual selected will be named by the National Americanism Commission during the annual National Spring Meetings. Three runner-up scholarships, at $2,500 each have been added to the scholarship awards. The Department of Kansas also gives a $500 scholarship to the Kansas Scout of the Year. 

  • Shooting Sports Scholarship-An outright grant of $500, applicants for this scholarship must be a Kansas high school senior or college level freshman, who has participated in an American Legion Shooting Sports program in the State and Regional levels. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically. 

  • U.S. “Udie” Grant Scholarship – The purpose of the U.S. “Udie” Grant Scholarship is to assist financially in the education of needy and worthy children and grandchildren of Kansas Legionnaires. Applicants must be a current 3-year member of the Sons of the American Legion within the Detachment of Kansas. 

  • Jay B. Thielen Scholarship – The purpose of the Jay B. Thielen Scholarship is to assist financially in the education of needy and worth children and grandchildren of Sons of The American Legion members of the Detachment of Kansas or members of the Sons of the American Legion of the Detachment of Kansas. Five scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each are annually awarded.  Paul Flaherty Athletic Scholarship-DUE JULY 15. This $250 scholarship is awarded to a high school boy or girl who has participated in school athletics. Applications must be received in Department Headquarters by July 15


Heartland Community Foundation - Grade 12

Kansas Association of Directors of Plant Facilities Scholarship– Grade 12

Ten $2,000 academic scholarships and four $2,000 technical scholarships. Requirements: graduating seniors of non-instructional support staff who wish to continue their education at the college level. Parent or legal guardian must be actively employed in a K-12 or secondary education institution and engaged in a buildings and grounds, food service or transportation position shall be eligible for these scholarships and it is the responsibility of the school to submit their best applications for competition. Cardinal Newman Society Scholarship - Grades 11 -12

The Cardinal Newman Society’s Ninth Annual Scholarship Contest is open for applications! This contest seeks to award one lucky recipient a potential $20,000 off college tuition at a Newman Guide Recommended college (Benedictine College is eligible) and is expanding the contest to include Catholic high school juniors and seniors this year. The application is quick and easy! No essay is required, but applications are due by February 18, 2025.

WTA Academic & Trade School Scholarships-Grade 12

Nex-Tech employees children graduating from high school in May 2025 may apply for these scholarships (&750-$2,500) Selections based on high school GPA; leadership and character; community and other activities;. Apply by February 21. Click here for inforation or an application.

Wichita Manufacturer's Association Scholarship-Grade 12

These scholarships are for graduating seniors who plan to attend college full-time in the 2025-26 school year and pursue a manufacturing-related field of study. Examples of manufacturing-related fields include: Accounting and Management or Marketing (with interest in a manufacturing-related career), Aviation Maintenance/Mechanic, Drafting – AutoCAD, CATIA, Engineering, Machine Operator/Programmer, Procurement/Purchasing, Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Welding. Recipent's must be interested in pursuing a career in South Central Kansas with a manufacturing company. Deadline to apply: February 24. Click here for more information and an application.

Cancer Pathways Teen Writing Contest -Grades 9-12

This writing contest is for any teen around the country touched by cancer. This annual event encourages teens in grades 9-12 to write about their experience with cancer for the opportunity to win one of several $1,000 prizes. The deadline for entries is February 28. Bill Auman Family Scholarship - Grade 12

This $2,500 one-time scholarship is for TMP-M seniors who plan to attend a technical school or cosmetology program. The only application is an essay. Click here for more information. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Diocese of Salina Scholarships - Grade 12+ •

• The Diocese of Salina has three scholarships for high school seniors and college students. Applications are due by March 1st. Apply here: https://givecfds.org/scholarships/

• Msgr. Clement A. Kruse Scholarship- Applicant must be an active registered member of a Catholic parish in the Diocese of Salina. These scholarships are approximately $500. •

• Marymount Memorial Educational Trust Scholarship - Applicant must attend an accredited Catholic College as a full-time student and an active registered member of a Catholic parish in the Diocese of Salina. These scholarships vary but range from $1,000 - $3,000. •

• Susan Deges Memorial Scholarship - Apply here: https://salinadiocese.typeform.com/CFscholarship24  This scholarship is specifically for high school seniors in the diocese who are active in their local CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). This scholarship is $1,000.

Kansas Farm Bureau Scholarships – Grade 12

  • KFB Technical Scholarships - Eight $500 awards. Applicants or parents must be Farm Bureau members in Kansas and student must be enrolled full-time in Agriculture or a closely related area of studyDeadline to apply: March 1.

  • KFB Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University Scholarships-Student or parents must be a Farm Bureau member in Kansas.

    Student must be enrolled in Agriculture or closely related area of study.

    Student must be classified as a junior or senior at the university in the fall. Deadline to apply: March 1

KSHSAA True Blue Scholarship-Grade 12

Thirty-four $2,000 one-time scholarships . Students must be seniors attending and graduating from a member school of the Kansas State High School Activities Association during the current school year and have rostered in a KSHSAA activity their senior year. One scholarship will be given in each KSHSAA activity/category and includes: Cheer, dance, debate, piano, KAY, STUCO, Scholar's Bowl and more. Selection criteria are: Community service, academic achievement, breadth of school activity participation, activitiy achievement, financial need. Click here for more information and an application. Nex-Generation Student (Summer) Apprenticeship Program – Age 16+

Looking for a paid work experience this summer? Students must contact one or more businesses and request their letter of support as well as signed approval from school personnel. Internships will be from May 30-August 11 and are paid a minimum of $12 /hour. Some possible Ellis County businesses are: Theraplay Learning Center, Bethesda Place, Ellis County Historical Society, The Counseling Connection, Downtown Hays Development Corporation. Don't see an employer listed that you would like to work with? Ask another business if they would sponsor you! Positions will be awarded first-come, first serve. Nex-Tech Technology Education Scholarship - Grade 12

Let Nex-Tech help you land an AMAZING spot on our team! Nex-Tech has started a new, Technology Education Sponsorship Program for students interested in Telecommunications, Information Technology or Heavy Equipment at FH Tech. We will cover your tuition and books for FREE! First, apply with FH Tech for acceptance into one of the qualified programs and complete our Sponsorship program application. Selected students must sign an agreement stating their intention to complete the 18-month FH Tech program and earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Those candidates will also agree to intern with Nex-Tech through the Nex-Generation Student Internship Program between their 1st and 2nd years in the program and employ with Nex-Tech for a minimum of 3 years following graduation from the program. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Programs – Grade 11, 12, 12+

Over 70 scholarship programs and multiple scholarship types. Complete one application to apply for all scholarships you are eligible for. Purpose: to help young people who have demonstrated integrity, overcome adversity, have academic potential and who want to make a unique contribution to society. There are scholarships for 11th grade, 12th grade and college students. Eligibility requirements vary by scholarship type. Click here for more information and applications. 

  • Undergraduate Scholarships - For high school juniors and seniors. Due March 1

  • Career and Technical Education scholarships – Scholarships up to $2,500 for students pursuing Associates or Certificate programs. These applications open in March and have rolling deadlines. The first round of scholarships are awarded in July.

Kansas Junior Golf Scholarship – Grade 12

Five $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year) for graduating Seniors attending a college or community college in Kansas. This is an academic scholarship but students must have participated in junior golf activities, including high school golf. Awards are based on academic performance, leadership and need. Due March 10. Hays Rotary Club Scholarship – Grade 12

Three $1500 scholarships are granted. For High school seniors graduating from an Ellis County high school. The application deadline is March 15. This is during TMP-M's Spring Break so turn in your application to me by noon on Friday, March 14th.

Jay Harris FFA Scholarship-Grade 12

This annual, non-renewable, $500 scholarship was established to honor Jay Harris. The applicant must be a graduating senior at TMP-Marian High School, have been enrolled in at least two agriculture classes, be a current member of the TMP-Marian FFA Chapter and must have been a member of the chapter for at least two years. The applicant must plan to attend an accredited post-secondary school full-time in the fall after high school graduation. Eligible schools may include any accredited university, college, community college, or vocational-technical school. Click here for more information and an application. Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association Scholarships – Grade 12

Seven scholarships from $500-$1,500. For high school seniors and current college students who plan to major in an agriculture-related field of study in a Kansas school. Applicants should be self-starters, good academic standing, be good school and community citizens and have a strong desire to continue their education. Deadline is March 14. Kansas Grain & Feed Association Scholarships – Grade 12

19 scholarships. Awards between $500 and $1,500. Qualifications: Graduating high school seniors who are self-starters, with excellent academic credentials, good school and community citizens, strong desire to continue their education and who will attend a college university, community college or technical school. Leikam Family Memorial Scholarship – Grade 12

One $500 scholarship. Golden Plains Credit Union Scholarship – Grade 12

Hagan Scholarship - Grade 12

This is a nation-wide need-based scholarship that provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight semesters. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA, work 240 hours from January 1 - September 1, 2025. Apply by March 15. For more information or to apply click here.

Kansas Masonic Lodge Scholarship Program -Grade 12

  • General Scholarships-$1,000 scholarships will be granted to students who will attend the Kansas Regents universities and Washburn University. 

  • Legacy Scholarships – $1,000 scholarships for high school students who are Masons or sons/daughters of a Kansas Mason who plan to attend any accredited university, community college or technical college.

Ellis County Commission Scholarship - Grade 12

There will be one $1000 scholarship, and two $500 scholarships for Thomas More Prep-Marian Seniors. Eligibility requirements: Must be an Ellis County resident, a high school senior, attending as a first-time freshman, full-time student, as an Ellis County resident, at either Hays Academy of Hair Design, NCK Technical College, or Fort Hays State University. Preference will be given to students who are either a child or grandchild of an Ellis County employee who has at least one year of employment with Ellis County but all Seniors are encouraged to apply. Preferences will be given to students who are pursuing a career path relevant to one within the Ellis County government, or within Ellis County in general. Some examples are careers in criminal justice, emergency medical services, information technology, agriculture, accounting, auto mechanics, nursing, heavy equipment operators, and truck drivers. Bethesda Place Scholarship - Grade 12

Bethesda Place is a local home and place of employment for individuals with disabilities. We have a passion to see the next generation of leaders include those with disabilities in their life - for the betterment of both! One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Hays area senior who has exemplified friendship to those in our community with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship and it may be used at the discretion of the recipient toward any post-secondary educational plans. Click here for an application. Golden Belt Bank Scholarship–Grade 12

Shelter Insurance Scholarship – Grade 12

Hays Wrestling Club Scholarship-Grade 12

TMP-Marian senior wrestlers who have been members of the Hays Wrestling Club for a minimum of three years (not to include high school years and an exception is made for girls until the class of 2028), wrestled a minimum of three years of high school and obtained a GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply for one of four $500 scholarships to be used at the post-secondary institution of their choice. This scholarship is awarded for only one year and a preference will be given to two boys and two girls unless insufficient applications are submitted. Click here for an application. Jay Harris FFA Scholarship-Grade 12

This annual, non-renewable, $500 scholarship was established to honor Jay Harris. The applicant must be a graduating senior at TMP-Marian High School, have been enrolled in at least two agriculture classes, be a current member of the TMP-Marian FFA Chapter and must have been a member of the chapter for at least two years. The applicant must plan to attend an accredited post-secondary school full-time in the fall after high school graduation. Bobbi Pfeifer Memorial Scholarship-Grade 12

This annual, non-renewable, $500 scholarship was established in memory of Bobbi Pfeifer. Thunder on the Plains - Grade 12

This scholarship is open to any TMP-M or Hays High School senior who plans to attend a school in Kansas in either Automotive Technology or Auto Collision Repair.
