2026 Sweetheart Candidates
Thomas More Prep-Marian Jr./Sr. High School is pleased to announce the 2026 Sweetheart Candidates.
Savannah Waldschmidt and Derek Becker - Savannah is the daughter of Jayme Clark and PJ Waldschmidt, and Derek is the son of Ray and Olivia ‘93 Becker.
Brooke Befort and Easton Werth - Brooke is the daughter of Brad ‘86 and Sarah Befort, and Easton is the son of Kent ‘86 and Shawnda Werth.
Brooklyn Werth and Landon Herrman - Brooklyn is the daughter of Cory ‘00 and Amber Werth, and Landon is the son of Eddie and Ashley Herrman.
Grace Schmeidler and Diego Fernandez - Grace is the daughter of Jarett and Mary Schmeidler, and Diego is the son of Jose and Irasema Fernandez.
Kaitlyn Komarek and Brayden Gilmore - Kaitlyn is the daughter of Chris and Stacey ‘98 York and the late Brian Komarek, and Brayden is the son of Jason and Shayla Werner.
The 2026 Sweetheart King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game on Friday, Feb. 13, in Al Billinger Fieldhouse when the TMP-M Monarchs take on the Phillipsburg Panthers at 7 p.m.

These students will represent TMP-M in the 12A State Band and the KMEA
Honor Choir in Wichita on February 28.






Interior work on the Creative Technology Center (CTC) at Thomas More Prep-Marian is progressing. We wanted to share our progress and thank some more amazing benefactors who are making the CTC a reality!

Great work at the MCL Scholars Bowl Tournament in Ellis on Monday. The Monarchs placed 3rd. TMP-M Scholars Bowl is coached by Whitney North.

The top four finishers will represent TMP-M at the Ellis County Spelling Bee on Monday, February 9 at Beach Schmidt Performing Arts Center. Congratulations to all of our participants!
Consider enriching your family experience this semester with a host student. The student is a senior male from Vietnam. The time period would be as soon as possible this month until May 18.
Host families provide a student with a loving home, bedroom, bathroom (can be shared), evening and weekend meals, and transportation to and from school. The host student is responsible for their school work, keeping their spaces tidy, and doing their own laundry
Host families receive a $600 monthly stipend to help offset the costs of hosting. If you are interested in helping this young man, please contact Chad Meitner at meitnerc@tmpmarian.org.
